USING THE SFFR.74 LARGE REDUCER/FLATTENER

WITH THE STELLARVUE SVX80T (3” FOCUSER)

The optional SFFR .74 - 80T reducer/

flattener converts your SVX80T into a full frame

astrograph for wide field deep sky photography.

It reduces the focal length to 356 mm and the

photographic speed from f-6 to f-4.5. To install

and use it follow these simple steps:

1. Using a 1.5 mm Allen wrench, loosen the

three small locking set screws on the drawtube

adapter.

2. Unthread the rear assembly including the

1 1/4” adapter, the 2” adapter and drawtube

adapter. Unthread these parts by hand by grip-

ping the knurled edge of the drawtube adapter.

The SFFR.74-80 reducer flattener cabn only be used in telescopes that have an adequate back focus and a 3”

focuser with M78 threaded drawtube. Stellarvue offers various versions of this reducer/flattener with the appro-

priate extension tubes and spacer rings that will enable it to be used effectively with various cameras on the

market. If the camera’s ccd chip is not spaced correctly from the reducer/flattener stars in the corners will ap-

pear elongated. If you are not sure how to properly set up your reducer/flattener and camera, call us at (530)

823-7796 or email us at mail@stellarvue.com. We want you to get the most out of your system so if you are

ever having difficulties we want you to call and let us help.

3. Insert inside focuser and thread by hand

the reducer/flattener into the drawtube.

4. Tighten by hand, then thread camera to reducer/flattener.

Make sure the ccd chip in the camera is spaced correctly from

the reducer/flattener (see page 15).
