Follow the instructions for preparing the wiring for the BigIR EHU. This step must be done before
mounting the DB style mounting plate. Refer to figure 8.13 and 8.14 on the last page of this manual for
more information.
•
The wind reinforcing plate has a short side and a long side, as shown in figure 8.1. It is critical that the
reinforcing plate be mounted as shown in figure 8.14, or the saddles will not align properly.
•
There are five holes on the reinforcing plate that align with the holes on the DB style mounting plate.
The BigIR EHU mounts on the DB style mounting plate and ten #10x1” pan head screws are used to
secure it. This will be covered in more detail on the next page.
•
Insert the two 5/16” x 4” hex head bolts into the long side of the reinforcing plate.
•
Insert the two 5/16” x 3.75” hex head bolts into the short side of the reinforcing plate.
•
Insert a 1/4” aluminum spacer on each of the 4” hex head bolts located on the long side of the reinforc-
ing plate.
•
Repeat for the 3.75” bolts located on the short side of the reinforcing plate, but on this side you will also
need to insert 3 of the 5/16” stainless steel washer per bolt.
•
Be sure to plug the drain vent hole on the DB style mounting plate with the included coax-seal. Do not
plug the side that has the mesh showing, plug the bottom exposed side, where the hole is. Even
though this hole is going to be covered by the wind reinforcing plate, it is a good precaution to plug the
hole to guard against liquid leaking into the EHU.
