XC880A OWNERS MANUAL

Prompt to Count: Enabling this function will cause the XC880A to prompt

the operator for an Average Piece Weight (APW) when
opening a part file which has no saved APW. See section 2.2.5
for details on APW prompting. If the operator chooses not to
enter or calculate the APW, the file will be opened in Weight
Mode only.

Prompt Setpoints: If enabled, the operator will be prompted for setpoint data

when opening a part file that has no stored setpoint mode. See
section 6.1 for details on setpoint setup.

3.6

User Password

The XC880A allows the entry of a user programmable password to protect

certain functions, or memory operations from unauthorized access.  When shipped
from   the   factory,   the   XC880A   will   have   no   user   password   set.     Follow   the
procedures below to enter or change the user password.

3.6.1 Changing/Clearing The User Password

The user code may be changed or cleared in the following manner.
1.   Press the ‘SHIFT’ key followed by the ‘P’ key.

The XC880A prompts to ‘CHANGE PASSWORD ?’ Press ‘1’
to  continue or ‘0’ to cancel and jump to step 6..

2. The XC880A now prompts the user to enter the current

Password. The code being changed must be known to continue.
Enter the code followed by the ‘ENTER’ key.  If the incorrect
code was entered, “INCORRECT CODE!’ will be displayed
momentarily   and   the   user   will   against   be   prompted   for   the
correct code.

3. The XC880A prompts to ‘ENTER NEW CODE’.  The user

may now enter the desired password of up to 16 alphanumeric
characters.  Up to this point, the code change may be canceled
by pressing the ‘RESET’ key, which will cause the XC880A to
prompt for ‘CANCEL CHANGE?’. Pressing ‘1’ at this time
will   cancel   the   operation   and   retain   the   previous   code.
Pressing ‘0’ will again prompt for a new code.

4. Once the desired password has been entered, press the

‘ENTER’ key. The user is prompted to re-enter the password.
If both passwords match, the XC880A momentarily displays
“PASSWORD CHANGED” and returns to its previous state.
The new code is stored and becomes effective at this time.

5. If ‘NO’ was chosen in step 2, The XC880A prompts to

“CLEAR PASSWORD?”

a. Press ‘1’ or ‘Y’, and the operator is prompted to enter
