5. Memory Functions
The XC880A can store a number of records in ‘FLASH’ memory, which can be
recalled by the operator. The standard XC880A will hold up to 50 records containing
part numbers and names of up to 16 characters each. If the XC880A is equipped with the
serial FLASH memory option, it will store up to 2000 part files. Each record also
contains the APW for that part, the unit of measure, and tare weight. Other data
contained in each file includes a location to hold accumulated quantities, and a setting to
allow separate set point modes and values for each record. Follow the instructions below
to enter and edit records through the keyboard.
5.1 Adding Records
There are two ways to add new records to memory, direct entry using the
keyboard, or prompting when a called part is not found.
Below is the procedure for adding a new record to the next available
memory location using direct entry method. The data prompted for may vary
depending on the operating program.
1. Press the ‘SHIFT’ key followed by ‘A’. The XC880A prompts “FILE:
( I )nventory, ( S )hip, ( T )rans.
a. To add an inventory record, press “I” and proceed to step 2.
Note that the CLEAR key can be used to clear any entry errors
b. To add a new SHIP TO (Plant Code) record, press “S”. Enter
the Plant Code, Plant name, Company name and up to 3 lines
of Address information as prompted using the Enter key after
each correct entry. Press the SHIFT – RESET keys to clear
any entry errors.
c. Transaction records are added by the scale as a record of
activity, and cannot be added or edited by the user. Pressing
“T” will cause the scale to exit the routine and return to weight
mode.
2. Operator is prompted for Part number. Enter up to 16 characters
for the part number. Press ‘ENTER’.
Note:
A valid part number is required to store a record.
3. The Customer Part Number is now prompted for. Enter up to 16
characters for the Customer Part Number, or leave it blank if desired.
Press ‘ENTER’.
4. The Scale now prompts for part name (PART DESCRIPTION). Enter
up to 16 characters for the part name, or leave blank if no part name
desired. Press ‘ENTER’.
5. The Scale now prompts for custom prompts if custom prompts are
being used. Enter up to 16 characters, or leave blank if desired. Press
‘ENTER’.
