To reduce the risk of injury, always shut
off the engine before carrying out any
maintenance or repairs or cleaning the
machine.
Cutting Attachments and Deflectors
The arrow on the deflector shows the
direction of rotation of the cutting blade –
see "Using the Power Tool".
The arrow on the deflector must always
point away from the operator. This
ensures that cuttings and other debris
are directed away from the power tool
and operator - see "Using the Unit".
Operate the power tool only with the skirt
properly mounted on the deflecfor – see
"Replacing the Skirt".
Handle the cutting blade with care – see
"Using the Unit".
Best cutting results: At full throttle
working at a steady pace.
STIHL recommends you use only
original STIHL cutting blades – see
"Special Accessories".
Only use deflectors or accessories that
are explicity approved for this power tool
by STIHL or are technically identical.
Your bed redefiner is suitable for
recutting existing flowerbed edges to
restore their sharp contours. Redefining
produces a sharp angled furrow.
N
Always pull the power tool, do not
push it forward – work in the
direction shown by the arrow.
Preparations
WARNING
To reduce the risk of accidents or injury,
remove all obstacles and objects from
the work area.
N
Plan the direction of cut – always
keep the power tool on the left-hand
side of your body with the cutting
attachment to the rear – maintain a
safe distance from the cutting
attachment at all times.
