branch and then perform the cross-cut from the
top downwards. The saw chain can be posi‐
tioned precisely using the gauge bar.

To avoid tearing the bark on thick branches,
always start by performing a
► relieving cut (1) on the underside of the
branch. To do this, position the cutting attach‐
ment and guide it down to the bar nose in an
arc.
► Perform the cross-cut (2) – position the bar
with the hook against the branch and then per‐
form the cross-cut
