Starting and Stopping the
Engine
9.1.1
Starting the Engine
► Place the tiller on a level surface.
► Set idle.
► Set main switch (1) to the I position.
► Slowly pull out starter handle (2) to the point of
noticeable resistance.
► Keep quickly pulling out and returning starter
handle (2) until the engine is running.
► If the engine does not start: see the engine
instruction manual.

Stopping the Engine
► Place the tiller on a level surface.
► Switch off self-propulsion.
The drive is disengaged and the drive shaft no
longer rotates.
► Set main switch (1) to the 0 position.
The engine stops.
9.2
Setting the Gear
Four gears can be set.
0/R = Idle/reverse gear
–
Idle is used to start the engine or to keep
the tiller stationary with the engine running.
–
Reverse gear is used to free the hoes or to
position the tiller.
1 = Slow forward gear
–
Slow forward gear is selected when loosen‐
ing firm soil or when making furrows.
2 = Fast forward gear
–
Fast forward gear is selected when working
soil additives into loose soil or when tilling
loose soil.
► Move gear lever (1) to the desired position.
NOTICE
■ Set idle for starting the engine and during work
breaks.

Adjusting the Engine Speed
The engine speed can be regulated using the
throttle lever.
► Start the engine.
