Transporting loads
As a general rule, loads must be transported
one by one (e.g. pallets). Transporting several
loads at once is only authorised:
●
If the safety requirements are met
●
On the orders of the supervisor in charge
The operator must ensure that the load is
properly packaged. The operator can only
move loads that have been properly packaged
and are safe and secure.
WARNING
Always drive forwards for optimum visibility.
–
Only travel in the direction of the forks when de-
positing a load, as visibility in this direction is re-
stricted.
If the load height or dimensions are likely to obstruct
the operator's view, a second person on foot must
assist with manoeuvres in order to warn the driver of
any obstacles. In this case, driving is only authorised
at walking speed and with the greatest care. Stop the
truck immediately if you lose contact with the person
accompanying you.
DANGER
Lower or raise the load until there is sufficient
ground clearance (approximately 300 mm).
Never transport loads with forks raised to greater
heights as the truck and the load being carried may
become unstable.
Do not allow the load, the pallets or the container to
trail along the floor.
DANGER
When travelling and transporting the load, be
aware of the side clearance of the load, particularly
when cornering.
Avoid hitting shelving and objects in your path.
