Spray pattern diagnosis
Problem
Cause
Remedy
The spray pattern pulses.
The user is moving too quickly during spra-
ying.
Slow down the movement.
The Hi/Lo switch is in the lo position.
Set the Hi/Lo switch to Hi.
The nozzle or nozzle filter is clogged.
Remove the nozzle clogging or clean the
nozzle filter; see page 136.
The spray pattern is stripy.
The pressure controller setting is too low.
Set the pressure regulator to a higher
pressure.
Wrong nozzle for the material.
See the selection table on page 133.
The material is not compatible with the
spray gun.
Change the material.
Intake or discharge valve is worn out.
See Repairing the intake valve and

page 143 - 145.
There are drips in the spray
pattern.
You are moving the spray gun too slowly.
Move the spray gun faster during spra-
ying.
The spray gun is too close to the target sur-
face.
Keep the spray gun at a distance of 55
cm from the surface.
You are holding the trigger while changing
the spraying direction.
Release the trigger when changing the
spraying direction.
The nozzle is too large.

The pressure controller setting is too high,
or the Hi/Lo switch is in the Hi position.
Set a lower pressure at the controller, or
set the Hi/Lo switch to Lo.
The nozzle is closed or damaged.
Replace the nozzle; see page 134.
The spray pattern is too nar-
row.
The spray gun is too close to the target sur-
face.
Keep the spray gun at a distance of 145
cm from the surface.

The nozzle is closed or damaged.

The spray pattern is too wide. The spray gun is too near to the target sur-
face.
Hold the spray gun closer to the surface.

"Spatter" at the start or end of
the spray pattern.
Excess material has built up in the rear area
of the nozzle.

The nozzle filter is clogged or damaged.

The seat is worn out.
