To prevent adverse air pressure conditions affecting oven performance, it is important
that the oven unit is built onto a self contained cabinet which is not connected to
externally vented chambers in adjacent furniture, other than correctly sized gas
dropouts.
Holes for cables and pipework must be sized to minimise inter-compartmental air
leakage. The specific ventilation requirements in this instruction book must, however,
continue to be maintained.
When a plinth is directly below the appliance it must be removable to allow servicing.
Dimpled foil insulation supplied must be fitted at the rear of the worktop.
Burner verification -
Once installed all burners must be checked to ensure that
the appliance is operating correctly.
Hotplate and grill -
Following the users instructions the burner should burn with
a clear blue flame without any sooting.
Oven -
The oven burner should also burn without sooting, although yellow tipping
is likely when using butane.
Clearance dimensions
• No full shelf or overhang of combustible material should be closer than 450mm
or 600mm (when lid fitted) above the hotplate.
Refer to Stoves for installation instructions for part shelves.
• A minimum distance of 40mm should be maintained between the hob and rear
wall / combustible surface.
• A minimum distance of 70mm should be maintained between the hob and any
side walls / combustible surface.
• Surfaces which are non-combustible or are protected with suitable non-combustible
material may have reduced clearances. Refer to Stoves for guidance.
• For installations with a blind at the rear of the appliance, a minimum distance of
55mm should be maintained.
• Maximum worktop overhang
(fig 1)
.
• When the appliance is not fitted with a lid, the installer must fit a heatshield -
made from a non-combustible material - to the rear wall.

8
. Fit bottom cupboard door 500DIT only.
Gas connection
The 8mm male threaded gas inlet is located at the base of the appliance.
The appliance must be installed into a gas supply system which ensures that the
appliance input pressure cannot fall from the nominal pressure by more than 1 mbar
(natural gas) and 2.5 mbar (butane / propane) when all the appliances connected
to the same supply system are operated simultaneously.
Important:
Rigid pipework must be used for this installation.
Electrical connection
Ignition:
(if fitted)
Note:
Excessive temperatures may impair the operation of the ignition generator.
1.5V Battery
The battery holder is located on the left hand side of the base of the appliance,
behind the plinth cover or pan door. To gain access to the battery, remove the plinth
cover - the battery holder is positioned at the front left hand side 120mm from the
front of the appliance. Fit a 1.5V AA type battery with the positive end facing the
rear of the appliance.
12V dc supply.
To fit the 12V dc supply, connect the positive (+) to the spare terminal on the generator
and connect the negative (-) to the trailing lead from the ignition button.
Mains ignition
The cable should be fixed so that it cannot come into contact with the flue.
Warning:
This appliance must be earthed.
The flexible mains lead is supplied connected to a BS 1363 fused plug, having a
fuse of 3 amp capacity. If this plug does not fit the socket in your home, it should
be replaced with a suitable plug as outlined below.
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Green and yellow = Earth, Blue = Neutral, Brown = Live.
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead for the appliance may not correspond
with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows
(Fig 16)
:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal
marked
E
(Earth) or coloured Green.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal marked
N
(Neutral), or coloured Black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal marked
L
(Live), or coloured Red.
The plug and socket must be accessible after installation.
Should the appliance mains lead ever require replacing, we recommend that this is
carried out by a qualified electrician who will replace it with a lead of the same size
and temperature rating.
