STFS PLUS S ACTIVATION & TEST
INITIAL ACTIVATION

Pull out the red tab to activate the product. The product should
emit an ‘activation jingle’, one time.

TESTING
1)
To test the device, hold Test button for more than 3 seconds until
a tone is heard.
2)
When the button is released, or has been held down for 5
continuous seconds, the tone will stop.
Do not point the sensors at bright lights when performing a self test.
If no sound is heard, Test was successful.

dismount canisters. The unit
will still function if flames from
a cooking fire come in direct,
sustained contact with the fuse.
Warning
3 tones
The conditions for a fire to
start have been detected.
Action needed to prevent fire or
deployment.
Repeats every 2 seconds
for 30 seconds until
conditions improve, or
unit is silenced.*
If safe to do so, turn off stove.
Do not reach across the pan.
Press button to silence alarm.
If nothing changes, unit will
deploy powder onto stove top.

Repeats every 1.5
seconds until batteries
run out or are removed, or
unit is silenced.*
Leave dwelling immediately,
then call 911. Once powder has
been deployed, the unit must
be replaced.
* Alarms can be silenced by pressing the TEST/SILENCE button on the bottom of the unit. This will only silence the alarm for about one day. Specific
action must be taken to permanently silence any of the alarms.
