 RAM Reset Procedure 

For Model 504-V9,V10 and Model 505-V3

Note:  Performing a RAM reset will clear all existing patient and QC data.  If possible, print the  
 

patient log file and QC data before proceeding with a RAM reset. 

 
1.  Unplug the instrument (Model 504) or power off the instrument using the ON/OFF switch (Model 505) 

and wait at least 5 seconds.  While holding down the red 

X

 button on the instrument keypad, plug in 

or power on the instrument. The following instrument display readings may differ slightly, depending 
on the software version. 

 
2. Instrument 

reads:  “

Setup, Reset System

?”   

 

Release the red 

X

 button and press the green 

 button. 

 
3. Instrument 

reads:  “

Reset All to Default! Sure?

”   

 

Press the green 

 button. 

 
4. Instrument 

reads:  “

RAM Cleared Restart System

.” 

 

Unplug or turn off the instrument and wait at least 5 seconds.   

 

Plug in or turn on the instrument without holding the red 

X

 button. 

 
5.  Instrument reads: 

The software version will display, followed by “New Software, 

[OK] for Setup

?”  

 

Press the green 

 button. 

 
6. Instrument 

reads:  “

Motor Setup, Please Wait...

”   

 

The instrument will cycle and print out the system settings.  

 

This step may take a couple of minutes. 

 
7. Instrument 

reads:  “

IR Auto Set, Remove Tubes [OK]

”   

 

Remove all tubes/test rack and press the green 

 button. 

 
8. Instrument 

reads:  “

Calibrating…

” 

 

The instrument will print some settings. 

 
9. Instrument 

reads:  “

RAM Now Reset to Default. [OK]

”   

 

Press the green 

 button. 

 
10. Instrument reads:  “

Setup User Config?

”   

 

Press the green 

 button. 

 
11. Instrument reads:  “

Set Date & Time?

”   

 

Press the green 

  button. Default date format is YY-MM-DD.   

 

Press the green 

 button to accept the date information on the display. 

 

Press the red 

X

 button to change the date. 

 

Press the green 

 button to advance to the time menu. 

 

Press the green 

  button to accept the time information on the display. 

 

Press the red 

X

 button to change the time. 

 

Press the green 

  button to advance to the next prompt. 

 
12. Instrument reads:  “

Set ESR Method?

”   

 

Press the green 

 button. 

 
13. Instrument reads:  “
