21.3.2 I’m Not Seeing The Video
That I Think I Should See On The
Monitor
•
Check the routing by selecting a known
good source, such as the wall camera,
then checking each part of the chain.
•
Route from the wall camera straight to
each monitor, then send the wall camera
to the Voice Control Device and see
what the output of Voice Control Device
looks like.
•
If the Voice Control Device video looks
good, try the same procedure with the
Digital Capture Device. This should
identify the part of the chain that is not
functioning as expected.
•
Is everything turned on that should be?
•
Make sure the input to the flat panel is
set to RGB-HV or S-Video. Flat panels
can be hard wired to the endoscopic cameras on the composite input as a fail-safe. If you see color bars
from the camera and can’t get anything else to route to the flat panel, this is the most likely source of the
problem.
21.3.3 When Using A Bovie Or Other Electro-
cauterizing Device, Interference Is Visible On The
Flat Panel Displays
•
Make sure that the cables from the Bovie or other electro-
cauterizing device are not run next to video cables. Run them
perpendicular to each other if possible.
Remember, if there is enough RF energy to cauterize, there is a lot
being radiated into space! If the interference is excessive or
unacceptable, often it may be a grounding issue that needs to be
resolved.
21.3.4 Picture Color Is Unusual Or Rolling On The Flat Panel Display
•
Check the tightness of the “in and out” connections of the video cables of the devices in the signal path.
