Front-Panel Display Page
Descriptions
The following sections provide information about the Model
5402’s front-panel menu pages. Additional details can be
found in the Model 5402 Configuration section of this guide.
Refer to Appendix D for the menu structure diagram.
Row One
There are six display pages associated with the top row
which we’ll refer to as row one. They relate to the timing
status of the associated Dante network, the Model 5402’s
selected internal timing, the status of the GNSS receiver,
parameters related to the external sync input, and display
of timing parameters that can be useful for factory trouble-
shooting.
Dante Sync Status Primary PTPv1:
This menu page will
display the PTPv1 sync status for the Dante primary inter-
face. It will show Leader, Follower, Link Down, or Error. The
management webpages should be utilized to observe the
Model 5402’s complete sync status. Using the Home and
Main webpages, the status of the Dante primary and Dante
secondary interfaces, including their support for PTPv1 and
PTPv2, will be displayed.
Current Clock Source:
This menu page will display which
timing source is actively being used by the Model 5402’s
circuitry. The possibilities are Internal, Internal (Failover
Active), GNSS, Sync Input, Dante, Dante (Failover Active),
and ---. Should the text Failover Active be present it will
alternate on and off as a warning of an abnormal condition.
This would typically warrant intervention.
GNSS Status:
This menu page will provide information
about the Model 5402’s GNSS (satellite) receiver. The pos-
sibilities are Locked, Locking, Unlocked, Antenna Discon-
nected, Antenna Error, Idle, and Error. Locked means that
the GNSS receiver is actively receiving a timing signal from
one or more of the possible satellite constellations. Locking
means that the GNSS receiver is in the process of locking
(or attempting to lock) to one or more of the possible satel-
lite constellations. Unlocked means that the GNSS is not
locked to a satellite constellation. Antenna Disconnected
is self-explanatory. Antenna Error would be displayed if
an antenna-related error condition was present, such as
too much DC current being drawn from the antenna input.
Idle indicates that GNSS was not selected to be the Model
5402’s timing source and the GNSS receiver is not actively
locked to a constellation. Error would indicate a problem
with the Model 5402’s circuitry being able to communicate
with the GNSS receiver circuitry.
Sync Input Type & Status:
This display page shows two
parameters. The top line will show the type of input that
has been configured for the sync input. The possibilities are
-Word Clock, Video, and 10 MHz. The bottom line will show
the status of the external sync input circuitry. The possibili-
ties are Locked, Unlocked, Standby, and Idle.
Sync Input Termination:
This menu page will display the
status of a terminating impedance being applied to the sync
input BNC jack. The two possibilities are Off and On.
Phase Detector Deviation (Factory Use):
This menu
page will display two numbers related to how well the Model
5402’s internal logic circuitry is “locking” to an external tim-
ing reference. (A configuration choice allows this reference
to be either the GNSS receiver or a signal connected to the
