COMPONENT TEST

PROCEDURE LETTER

K

MONITOR SWITCH TEST:

1. Disconnect power supply cord.
2. Open drawer and keep it open.
3. To discharge high voltage capacitor, wait for 60 seconds.
4. Before performing test, make sure that secondary interlock switch is operat-

ing, according to above Switch Test Procedure.  Disconnect wire lead from
monitor switch (COM) terminal.  Check monitor switch operation by using
ohmmeter as follows.  When drawer is open, meter should indicate a closed
circuit.  When monitor switch actuator is pushed by a screw driver through
lower latch hole on front plate of oven cavity with drawer opened (in this con-
dition plunger of monitor switch is pushed in), meter should indicate an open
circuit.  If improper operation is indicated, switch may be defective and both
monitor switch, plus monitor fuse will need to be replaced.  After testing moni-
tor switch, reconnect wire lead to monitor switch (COM) terminal and check
continuity of monitor circuit.

5. Reconnect all leads removed from components during testing.
6. Reassemble unit.
7. Reconnect power supply cord.
8. Run oven and check all functions.

BLOWN MONITOR FUSE TEST:

1. Disconnect power supply cord.
2. Open drawer and block it open.
3. To discharge high voltage capacitor, wait for 60 seconds.
4. If monitor fuse is blown when drawer is opened, check stop switch, secondary

interlock switch and monitor switch according to “TEST PROCEDURE” for
those switches before replacing blown monitor fuse.

Before replacing a blown monitor fuse, test the secondary interlock switch,
stop switch and monitor switch for proper operation.

If monitor fuse is blown by improper switch operation, monitor fuse and monitor
switch must be replaced with “monitor fuse and monitor switch assembly.” Even if
monitor switch operates normally.  Monitor fuse and monitor switch assembly is
comprised of a 20 ampere fuse and switch.

5. Reconnect all leads removed from components during testing.
6. Reassemble unit.
7. Reconnect power supply cord.
8. Run oven and check all functions.
