2.6
Vacuum and fume extraction system
WARNING:
Before commencing any cutting procedure, ensure that the fume
extraction and vacuum system is in good working order and operates correctly.
Some materials may produce hazardous fumes if laser cut
–
check with the
material supplier or manufacturer before cutting. Ensure that any fumes are
extracted in accordance with health and safety requirements.
The vacuum and fume extraction system will automatically start operating during the cutting
process if it is set to
Fans Manual: FALSE
in the
Settings
screen. If you want to control the
vacuum and fume extraction
system’s operation manually, tap the setting
to change it to
Fans:
Manual: TRUE
. The system will then immediately start operating. Tap again to turn off.
2.6.1
Extraction pump
For safety and environmental reasons, fumes from around the cutting area are extracted by
the extraction system underneath the conveyor bed. The unfiltered air should be led outside
by means of pipework.
2.6.2
Vacuum pump
The material on the conveyor bed is held down by means of the vacuum system to ensure a
clean cut and precise material transport. The vacuum pump is not connected to an exhaust
pipe: the clean air can be released in the working area.
