Java Desktop System Release 2 Driver Installation
Java Desktop System, Release 2 for SUSE Linux
To install the drivers and mount the diagnostic partition when running the Java
Desktop System, Release 2 (which includes SUSE Linux):
1. Log in to the Sun Java Workstation W1100z or W2100z as superuser.
2. Insert the Sun Java Workstation W1100z and W2100z Supplemental CD into the
CD/DVD-ROM drive.
3. Open a terminal window and type the following command:
#
mount
-o ro
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
This mounts the Supplemental CD to
/mnt/cdrom
4. Change to the
/mnt/cdrom/drivers/linux/suse
directory by typing the
following command:
#
cd /mnt/cdrom/drivers/linux/suse
5. Run the installation script by typing the following command:
#
./install.sh
6. Reboot the workstation.

If you are installing the drivers for the Java Desktop System for Solaris, follow the
instructions in
“Solaris Operating System Driver Installation” on page
. The install
script for the Solaris Operating System will also install the Java Desktop System
drivers.
