Caution –
Follow the upgrade instructions in the patch README file with great
care, to download and install firmware correctly. If the wrong firmware is installed,
or the firmware is installed on the wrong device, your controller may be rendered
inoperable.
4. Reconnect the original cables to the new I/O controller module.
Caution –
You must connect the hosts to the correct host channels on the I/O
controller module, or your configuration will not work correctly.

Monitoring the Automatic Firmware Update with
a Recently Installed Controller FRU
To monitor the status of the automatic firmware update, use the CLI
show
redundancy
command. The CLI will display the progression of “Failed,”
“Scanning,” “Detected” and “Enabled” states.
Note –
If you have not installed the CLI software, you need to install it from the CD
that was packaged with your array.
