•  Connect the hose to the control valve inlet. Fig 3.

•  The mask is now being supplied with air and you can put it on.

•  Use the regulator knob to set the air flow rate to suit your

current work intensity. Fig. 2.

In the fully closed position (turn the knob anti-clockwise), the

flow is about 5.3 CFM (150 l/min), and in the fully open position

(turn the knob clockwise), it is about 12 CFM (340 l/min).

•  The breathing hose retaining clip which is supplied can be

used to advantage for securing the breathing hose to your

body. Fig. 1:11

2.5  Taking the equipment off

Leave the polluted work area before taking the equipment off.

•  Remove the mask

Releasing the air supply hoses:

CEJN connectors

Push the coupling towards the nipple, at the same time pulling

the locking ring back. Fig. 4.

Schrader and Hansen connectors

Twist the locking ring on the coupling.

Releasing the breathing hose:

Push the coupling towards the nipple, at the same time pulling

the locking ring back. Fig. 4.

After every period of use, check that no defects have occurred,

and clean the equipment. See 4.1.

2.6  Cautions / limitations

A

 -  Not for use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5

percent oxygen.

B

 -  Not for use in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life

or health.

C

 -  Do not exceed maximum use concentrations established

by regulatory standards.

-  Air-line respirators can be used only when the respirators

are supplied with respirable air meeting the requirements

of CGA G-7.1 Grade D or higher quality.

E

 -  Use only the pressure ranges and hose lengths specified

in the User’s Instructions.

J

 -  Failure to properly use and maintain this product could

result in injury or death.

M

 -  All approved respirators shall be selected, fitted, used, and

maintained in accordance with MSHA, OSHA and other

applicable regulations.

N

 -  Never substitute, modify, add, or omit parts. Use only

exact replacement parts in configuration as specified by

the manufacturer.

-  Refer to User’s Instructions, and/or maintenance manuals

for information on use and maintenance of these respira-

tors.

S

 -  Special or critical User’s Instructions and/or specific

use limitations apply. Refer to User’s Instructions before

donning.

Do not use

−  If the ambient air does not have a normal oxygen content.

−  If the pollutants are unknown.

−  With oxygen or oxygen-enriched air.

−  If you can smell or taste the pollutants.

−  If you finds it difficult to breath.

− If you experience dizziness, nausea or other types of

discomfort.

−  If the warning whistle sounds, indicating that the air supply

is lower than recommended.

−  If the functional check does not produce satisfactory results.

See 2.3.

Limitations

−  A person working in an explosive or flammable environment

must follow any local regulations that may be in force for

such conditions.

−  At very high work intensity, a partial vacuum may occur in

the equipment during the inhalation phase, which may cause

ambient air to be drawn in.

−  The air supply system should be equipped with an appro-

priately rated and adjusted pressure relief safety valve.

−  The equipment is approved only together with Sundström

compressed air supply hoses.

3.  Technical specification / S – Special

     or Critical User’s Instructions

Air flow rate

5.3 CFM (150 l/min) to 12 CFM (340 l/min) measured in the

mask.

Manufacturer’s minimum design flow: 5.3 CFM (150 l/min).

Compressed air supply hoses and regulator

The hoses and regulator are approved with three alternative

connectors

−  CEJN 10 342 series

−  Schrader Twist lock series

−  Hansen 2RL series

The following hoses have been approved together with SR 307

compressed air attachment:
