turn over the canvas to align it with the previous band to place the next pole set in the next
tunnel. If the 7 pole sets have been slid into the tunnels and the tent bands are neatly aligned
on top of each other, the entirety is ready to be placed on the anchors.
Step 4: place the tent on the anchors
a. To do this, grab the entire tent on one side and place it on the inside of one of the anchors.
Attention: never pull on the tent poles, but always cárry the entire tent.
b. Do the same for the other anchor. This will require more strength.
c. This way, make sure that the tent is placed, on the ground, in the shape of a perfect half circle.
d. Now you’re going to place the ends of the pole sets onto the pins of the anchor. To do this, one
person will need to stand on the inside of the tent and lift the pole sets in the right order behind
the anchor.
e. The other person will stand on the outside and twist the hinge / block with pins in such a way
that the one pin in the anchor that does not move, points more or less upwards. Then, this
person places the bottom pole set on the first pin. Attention: never pull on the poles sets, even
if the poles do not sit completely covering the anchor pins (if necessary, you can push the tent
lying on the ground, from the centre, towards the anchor). Then, place, in the right order, the
other 6 tent poles onto the corresponding pins.
f. Do exactly the same at the other anchor. The person standing on the inside of the tent now also
grabs the pole sets from behind the anchor and hands them to the other person in the right order,
who then places all pole sets on to the corresponding pins. It could happen again that the pole
set does not entirely slide up to the end of the pin. This is not a problem. Attention: make sure
to never pull on the tent poles, because this will pull apart the pole parts. If there is too much
space, together you can always slide the tent as a whole closer to the anchors. It is not a problem
if one or two pole sets are not on the pins at all and may be ‘floating’. Later on, when the tent is
set upright, this can be rectified.
Step 5: setting the tent upright
a. The tent is still on the ground. In the previous steps we mentioned that it wasn’t a problem if
the poles did not completely cover the pins of the hinge anchor. We will rectify this now. Do not
pull on the pole sets, but instead one person will push the blue / grey pole tunnels from the centre
of the tent towards the hinge anchors, while the second person guides the poles over the pins.
b. If the poles sets are now placed well on the anchor pins, the tent is ready to be pulled upright.
Proceed as follows: the upper blue / grey pole tunnel with the poles set running through it has
three openings. One person should take the tent mid-way between the right opening and the
hinge anchor, and the other person mid-way between the left opening and left hinge anchor.
When pulling up the tent, each person should follow the natural direction of the tent.
Note: Do not pull the pole sets from the pins when pulling the tent upright. If this happens, you
should place the tent back on to the ground. Never try to pull the poles over the pins, but guide
from the centre of the tent, otherwise the pole parts may come apart.
c. When the tent is completely upright, you must attach the guy line. You do this at the front /
entrance to the tent. The lowest pole tunnel (the tunnel that is on / nearest the ground) has
three openings. Tie the line on to the pole visible at the middle opening. To do this, make a loop
at the end guy line, at the end opposite to the tab, and pull the line all the way through (behind
the tent pole).
Step 6: securing the tent
Before you secure your tent, you need to “shake it up”. To do this, shake the tent on both sides
firmly to the left and right, so that the foil is well distributed over the tent poles.
a. Now you are going to secure the tent, using the 6 twist pegs.
b. On both sides of the tent there are 3 openings in the lower (blue / grey) tunnel. A twist peg
should be placed at each of these (6) openings. Place the first twist peg at the middle opening
at the rear of the tent, on the outside of the tent, tight against the tent pole. To do this, push
the tent pole slightly away from you to allow a small gap to twist in the peg. Twist the peg into
the ground until there is space of approximately 1½ cm. left between the handle and the
ground, while this handle is positioned perpendicular to the tent pole.
Attention: now check if you have placed this first twist peg on the right place. If so, the black
hinge blocks of the anchors (with hinges) should be perpendicular / at right angle to the
ground. If these blocks bend to the left or right, you must change the location of the first twist
peg in the opposite direction. Only then your tent will be secure and nicely upright later on (and
windproof).
c. In the same way as the first twist peg, rotate the other two twist pegs at the rear of the tent
into the ground, at the opening of the blue / grey tent tunnels.
d. Now you can place the 3 twist pegs on the front of the tent. Also at the 3 openings of the blue/
grey tent tunnels: first push the tent downwards (in the middle), with little force, in the directi
on that the tent itself wants to go. Now place the first twist peg at the center opening of the
blue / grey tent tunnel; at the outside of the tent, tight against the tent pole. Mark this location
by placing the twist peg into the ground. Afterwards, push the tent (pole set) forward slightly (to
make space to twist the twist peg into the ground) and temporarily fasten it with the metal eye peg.
e. Twist the twist peg straight into the ground, at the place you marked before. Twist the peg into
the ground until there is space of approximately 1½ cm. left between the handle and the
ground, while this handle is positioned perpendicular to the tent pole. Remove the metal eye
peg and pull the tent pole underneath the twist peg.
Then twist the other two twist pegs into the ground. They should be positioned at the two
other open sections of the lower tent tunnel.
It may happen that a twist peg is not fitting perfectly (it should fit perfectly to ensure the pole
is set firmly to the ground). If this is the case, remove the twist peg from the ground and try
again, twisting it into the ground a quarter of a turn different again.
f. Ensure that your SunnyTent is completely secured to the ground on both sides, so that wind
cannot blow under the tent.
g. You can secure the twist pegs by placing the secure pegs against them, as shown on the instruction
video. This will prevent the twist pegs from turning towards the left (which causes the twist peg
to come upwards a bit). You should do this especially, if a strong wind is expected and / or if you
leave the SunnyTent unattended.
h. The tent is secured with the 6 twist pegs. To open the tent, turn the twist pegs one quarter
