XVII. STORAGE
Please observe the following points with regard to storage.
1. Remove the battery before storing.
It can be very dangerous for a child or anyone unfamiliar with the operating
methods to carry out this procedure. Ensure that the battery is removed from
the wheelchair when not in use. Ensure that the protective cap is in place
before the battery is stored. If the contacts are unprotected there is the risk of
a short circuit.
NOTE–
When not in use, the battery should be recharged every three months to ensure
optimum performance after being stored.
2. After operating the wheelchair on wet ground, wipe off any drops of water with
a dry cloth. Wet equipment can rust.
3. To remove mud and dirt, rub off with a well wrung-out cloth.
IMPORTANT–
Never bring into contact with water, as this can cause an electrical mal-
function.
4. Storage in rooms with low humidity.
IMPORTANT–
Avoid storage areas where the equipment can get wet or where it is
exposed to direct sunlight or excessive humidity, as this can lead to a
malfunction.
5. Avoid rooms where the temperature is too high for storing the battery.
IMPORTANT–
do not leave the battery for long periods in the car in warm weather!
