5.3 MAIN FILTER CHANGE
WARNING:
Turn off the engine and wait for the fan
impeller to completely stop before opening
the machine to change filters.
The exhaust will get very hot even when
running the engine for a short time.
IMPORTANT:
All of the following procedures
must be performed with the dust collector turned
off
/see chapter 5/. Before performing any work or
maintenance on the vacuum, be sure to wear the
proper protective equipment. This might include
clothing which covers any exposed skin,
protective eyewear, a respirator, and/or
protective gloves conforming to protection class
FFP3.
To replace the main filter, loosen the three
latches (see fig.5.3-1) and open the head cover
(see fig.5.3-2) around the hinge using the lever
(see fig.5.3-3). Be carefull not to damage the
power cord and the flexible vacuum hose (see
fig.5.3-4). Lift out the used filter (see fig.5.3-5)
and place it carefully in a plastic bag. This bag
must be properly disposed. Insert a new
complete filter pack in reverse order. Only
original filters may be used.
CAUTION: If you are removing the Main filter in
order to clean it: hitting the filter with force or use of compressed air will destroy the filter. It can handle water, but high
pressure water cleaning will destroy it.
