7-3 Advanced
Settings
The Advanced Settings screen and sub menus are listed below:
When you fi rst enter the Advanced Setup screen, the Setup Warning will
be displayed. Please follow the instruction and set the correct value for
each item to prevent the system from malfunctioning.
CPU Confi guration Sub-Menu
Confi gure Advanced CPU Settings
This option allows the user to confi gure the Advanced CPU settings for the
processor(s) installed in the system.
Ratio CMOS Setting
(Available when SpeedStep is disabled.)
This option allows the user to set the ratio between the CPU Core Clock and the
FSB frequency. The default setting is 16.
L3 Cache
(Available when supported by the OS and the CPU.)
Select
Enabled
to enable L3 (Level 3) Cache in the CPU. The options are
Enabled
and Disabled.
Hardware Prefetcher
(Available when supported by the OS and the CPU.)
If set to "Enabled," the hardware prefetcher will pre-fectch streams of data and
instructions from main memory to L2 cache in the forward or backward manner to
improve CPU performance. The options are Disabled and
Enabled
.
