Remove
Screws
Some motherboards require additional screws for heatsinks, general components
and/or non-standard security. These additional standoffs are included with the
motherboard.
Installing the Motherboard
1. Review the documentation that came with your motherboard. Become familiar
with component placement, requirements, precautions, and cable connec-
tions.
2. Power down the system, remove the cords from the back of the power sup-
plies and open the chassis top cover as described in Section 4-2.
3. Remove the two screws which secure the middle fan bracket into the chassis
as illustrated below and set them aside for later use. (Unplug the fan connec-
tors from the original motherboard if necessary) and lift the middle fan bracket
up and out of the chassis.

Permanent and Optional Standoffs
Standoffs prevent short circuits by securing space between the motherboard and
the chassis surface. The SC848 chassis includes permanent standoffs in locations
used by most motherboards, and optional standoffs are included in the SC848 ac-
cessories packaging.
To use an optional standoff, you must place the standoff through the bottom of the
chassis and secure it with the rounded end upward.
