Performing a Manual Update
Your eKEY must be activated manually with a current update code if
you forget to eSYNC overnight. Use one of the following methods to
update your eKEY:
1. Log on to the agent website to obtain the update code. See Logging
onto the Agent Website in Chapter 7 for instructions on accessing
KIMweb to obtain the update code.
2. Call KIMvoice to obtain an update code. See Obtaining an Update
Code from KIMvoice in Chapter 8 for instructions on accessing the
update code through KIMvoice.
Entering the update code into your
e
KEY
Once you have obtained the new update code using one of the above
options, you must enter the code into your eKEY.
1. Close your eKEY shell.
2. Press the
on
button.
3. Highlight the
Manual Update or CBS
option.
4. Press
enter
. The
Update Key
screen appears.
5. Enter the numeric update code (the code you received through
either KIMvoice or KIMnet). Press
enter
.
Note
: If you entered the update code correctly, the
Operation
Successful
message appears. If you receive an error message
see Appendix A: Error Codes for help in determining how to
correct the error.
Important!
If you obtain an update code from either KIMvoice or
KIMweb, you must eSYNC before you can obtain an
update code a second consecutive day from KIMvoice or
KIMweb.
