8. AFTER FLIGHT
8.1 Shutdown Flow Items
Once the aircraft is parked, the Captain will set the TCLs to idle (5 min cooling), and feather the
propellers (min 40, seconds to remove oil from the reduction gearbox), and announce “Set Park
Brake”. The FO then sets the park brake, and pumps up the brake pressure. Once the park brake
is set, the Captain switches off the
TAXI LIGHTS
and completes the flows to AC / DC Generators
OFF. After shutting down the engines, the Captain completes their flows, and requests
SHUTDOWN CHECKLIST.
The checklist is challenge/response, with the FO reading the checklist,
and the Captain responding accordingly.

NOTE:
For long term parking, move the PCL’s out of the feathered position. For quick
turnarounds (e.g. within 30 minutes) it is not necessary to switch off all the CBs under the cover.
