5.9 Navigation Set Up for Takeoff
Composite COMP 360 HSI – HSI display
The standard configuration for PFD 1 and PFD 2 is COMP 360 HIS.
Composite COMP ARC MAP can be used prior take-off to check GPS flight plan and its
waypoints, however it is not the recommended configuration for flying operations
.
GPS is the primary method of navigation, however all applicable navaids shall be tuned and
identified on GTN 750/650.
It is recommended to have the appropriate VOR of the departing airport or appropriate
Navaidfor the departure procedure.
The ILS frequency in case of an emergency return should be set on the Standby (if available). By
selecting the bearing pointers to the appropriate Nav 1 and Nav 2 raw data can be monitored.
NOTE
To display the wind vector on PFD 2 (FO side), the GPS1 shall be set on the bottom left of the
PFD.
