ENGINE COOLANT
ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL CHECK
• Inspect the engine coolant level by observing the upper

and lower
B
lines on the engine coolant reservoir tank.
• If the level is below the lower line, add engine coolant until the
level reaches the upper line.
ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT
• Remove the radiator cap lid

• Remove the radiator cap

and engine coolant reservoir tank

• Remove the left inner fender and left mud guard. (

• Remove the front under cover.
• Place a pan below the water pump, and then drain the engine
coolant by removing the drain plug

• Flush the radiator with fresh water, if necessary.
• Tighten the drain plug

to the specified torque.

Engine coolant drain plug:
12.5 N·m (1.25 kgf-m, 9.0 lb-ft)
• Pour the specified engine coolant into the reservoir tank.

Engine coolant:
Use and antifreeze designed for aluminum radiators
mixed with distilled water only.
Water/antifreeze mixture ratio: 50:50 – 40:60
NOTE:
For engine coolant information, refer to page 7-2.
Replace the engine coolant every 2 years.
* Do not open the radiator cap when the engine is hot,
as you m ay be i njured by es caping h ot l iquid o r
vapor.
* Engine coolant may be harmful if swallowed or if it
comes i n co ntact with t he skin or ey es. If en gine
coolant gets into the eyes or contacts the skin, flush
the eyes or wash the skin thoroughly, with plenty of
water. If engine coolant is swallowed, induce vomit-
ing and call a physician immediately.
