PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
Chock the front wheels. Lift the
rear end of the vehicle and place a
block under the swing arm.
2. Loosen the lock nut

is 47 – 51 mm (1.9 – 2.0
in).
5. Tighten the lock nut

until resis-
tance is felt, then loosen the
adjuster 1/8 – 1/4 turn.
7. Tighten the lock nut

while hold-
ing the adjuster in position.

WARNING
Failure to properly adjust the park-
ing brake can be hazardous.
If the brake grabs or fails to lock
the wheels when engaged, you
may have an accident.
After adjusting the parking brake,
lift the rear wheels off the ground
and make sure they spin freely
with the brake released. Also
make sure the rear wheels are
locked when the parking brake is
set.
