Autotracking with panel switching
4.1.1
How Does It Work
The autotracking with panel switching consists of an AMS multisectorial
switchable antenna (with up to 5 possible panels and one possible up-down
antenna), which has inside it a relay controlled by the HDR-106. This
solution provides the HDR-106 receiving the best signal quality using the
GPS coordinates of the transmitter and the receiver. With these GPS
coordinates, the HDR-106 device sends a control signal to the relay which is
inside the AMS antenna so as to switch on the most suitable panel antenna
in which the level of the received signal is the highest. With this control
signal, the relay (through a circuit based on PIN diodes) allows the RF signal
of the most suitable panel antenna passing through it. Then, this signal is
sent to the HDR-106 receiver.
