Instructions for use
Check that the system has been adjusted and that the
ventilation unit, filters and ducts are clean before commis-
sioning the ventilation unit.
1. Start the ventilation unit and set the ventilation output from the
control panel (Fig. 1) with the buttons for operating the fans (+ and -).
Under normal operating conditions, the ventilation output should be
set to the At Home setting. Before starting up the ventilation unit,
check that no condensate has collected inside the unit during the
period when it was in storage.
2. If it is severely cold outdoors, the reheating setting can be adjusted
by measuring the temperature by the supply air diffuser situated at
the farthest end. We recommend that you set the reheating to approx.
+17 °C. You enter this setting from the control panel.
3. The air heater for reheating is equipped with an electronic tempera-
ture limiting function that prevents the air heater from overheating.
If a malfunction arises, the function switches off the air heater. If the
overheat protection trips, this is a sign that something is wrong. Always
find the cause of the malfunction remedy it. You can acknowledge
overheating by pressing the reset button of the protection device in
the supply air chamber, when the air heater has cooled off (Fig. 2).
4. The air bypass of the heat exchanger (Fig. 3) is a built-in function
in the ventilation unit. This function prevents the recovery of heat
when the Summer night cooling function is being used. The bypass
is automatic, when the Summer night cooling function and desired
initial temperature have been selected from the control panel.
5. A photocell is used for preventing frost from forming on the heat
exchanger in the ILTO X100. It operates as follows: the transmitting
section of the photocell emits an infrared light beam, which is received
by the receiver section. If frost forms inside the heat exchanger, the
light beam can no longer pass through the heat exchanger. The
controller then lowers the speed of the supply air fan in the ven-
tilation unit so that the heat in the extract air thaws the frost. The
thawing period in the ventilation unit is set to approx. 15 minutes.
The thawing period is calculated from when the ice has thawed out
enough enabling the receiving section to re-establish contact with
the light beam. A green LED on the control panel flashes, when the
anti-frost protection function is enabled.
The build-up of frost in the heat exchanger is also prevented with
a thermostat, which decreases the capacity of the supply air fan to
level 1, until the extract air has heated the heat exchanger above
frost forming temperature.
