General settings
The following handset settings can be
switched on or off.
Select the respective function and switch
it on or off by pressing the menu key below

Keyclick
Each keystroke on the handset is confirmed
by an click. In the default setting, keyclick
is on.
Range beep
If the range beep is on, a warning beep
sounds if you leave the radio range.
If this happens, move back towards the
base station or out of the blind spot until
the warning beep stops, otherwise the tele-
phone link will be cut.

Functions only in specific PBXs with
activated CLIP.
Note:
If the range is inadequate, relocation of the
base station may bring about an improve-
ment. See the section "Setting up the tele-
phone and putting it into service" for in-
formation about the optimum location.
Charging beep
In the default setting, the charging beep is
on; an acknowledgement beep sounds
when the handset is replaced in the charg-
ing bay.
Direct accept
Incoming calls are accepted directly, simply
be lifting the handset from the base sta-
tion or from the charging bay.
Note:
If the handset is neither in the base station
nor in the charging bay the calls can be
accepted by pressing the connect key.
While the answering machine is recording
a message, direct accept is temporarily de-
activated.
Backlight
The function "Backlight" can be switched
on or off. If it is on, the display is backlit as
soon as any key is pressed or a call arrives.
If no key is pressed for several seconds,
backlight switches off automatically.
