BEFORE USE
Wash the fondue pot and fondue forks in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry.
HOW TO FILL AND USE BURNER
* It is recommended that Swiss Fire Gel be used with our fondue burners.
When Using a Gelled Fuel Capsule:
• Place gelled fuel capsule in the base cup of the burner and then remove foil cover on capsule.
• Tightly secure adjustable burner cover onto the base cup and place into the rechaud.
• Use a match directly into the burner to light.
• Use the handle of the burner cover to adjust the strength of the flame.
When Using Bottled Gelled Fuel:
• Pour gelled fuel directly into the base cup of the burner. CAUTION: Avoid overfilling.
• Tightly secure adjustable burner cover onto the base cup and place into the rechaud.
• Use a match directly into the burner to light.
• Use the handle of the burner cover to adjust the strength of the flame.
PLEASE NOTE:
Should at any time a flame be visible under the lip of the burner’s lid, follow the
steps as noted below to extinguish the flame.
HOW TO EXTINGUISH BURNER
• To extinguish the flame of your burner at the end of your meal, use the handle of the burner cover to
close all of the air vents, then place burner lid on top of the burner.
CARE & CLEAN UP
• When fondue cooking is complete, extinguish flame with burner lid (see instructions above).
• Allow fondue pots and contents to cool completely on rechaud.
• Remove contents from pots, rinse pots and splatter guard with hot, soapy water. Wash by hand, not
in a dishwasher.
• Wash fondue forks by hand.
• Wipe cool rechaud, base and burner with a damp cloth or sponge if needed.
TIPS
• Use splatter guard for meat fondues only.
• For cheese or chocolate fondue, bring an inch or two of water to a simmer in the stainless steel pot
then nest the ceramic bowl over the top to create a double-boiler. The simmering water in the pot
indirectly heats the ceramic bowl, allowing for a gradual melting process to prevent the cheese or
chocolate from burning.
• Place your Swissmar fondue on a flat and stable surface away from walls and on a heat-resistant
surface like a hot pad, wooden cutting board or ceramic tiles.
• Adjust the flame to the appropriate level using the handle of the burner. A medium setting is usually
in order. Your flame should not be too aggressive.
• Enjoy your meal, but remember to always be careful. There is a live flame at your table. Remember
children are attracted to flames. Be sure that paper products, table decor, etc., are used with care.
