• If this solar module is used in a system consisting of multipe solar modules, all modules
used must have the same amperage. Only solar modules with identical amperage may be
used when connected in series. Only solar modules with identical voltage may be used when
connected in parallel.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
Operation
Ensure that the wires are connected to the electrical device with the correct polarity and
with a suitable adaptor. So you do not mix up the different wires you should use different
cable colours (normally black for the negative terminal and red for the positive terminal).
Wires and adaptors must be approved for outside use and operation with a solar module.
Strip the insulation of the wire only far enough for the bare end to properly fit into the
screw terminal. Avoid making the bare wire ends too long, which would allow them to
come into contact with objects or body parts.
1. Strip the insulation of the wires that you want to use for the connections only far enough for the bare
end to properly fit into the screw terminal.
2. Loosen the screws of the screw terminals. Insert the bare wire ends into the lateral holes of the screw
terminals and tighten the screws again.
3. Connect the wires to the electrical device. If required, use a suitable adaptor to connect the electrical
device.
4. As soon as light falls on the module, it will start creating electric current and voltage.
5. Position the solar module at a sunny spot or turn a 1000 W halogen lamp towards it (e.g. for
experiments).
6. During operation, put the solar module on a flat, clean surface.
7. After use, loosen the screws of the screw terminals and remove the wires.
Care and cleaning
Regularly clean the solar module, as its performance would otherwise decrease and the
surface could be irreversibly damaged.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause
damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• To clean the surface, use a soft, antistatic and dry brush.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At
the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

Intended use
This polycrystalline solar module converts the radiant energy contained in light (usually sunlight) into
electrical energy. A range of different devices can be attached, using the screw connections of the solar
module. This requires wires and/or adaptor plugs (not included in delivery).
The compact solar module is suitable as a power source for outdoor activities. For example, you can charge
the built-in battery of an electrical appliance.
It can also be used as illustrative course material (e.g. at universities) to explain the functionality of solar
modules and to carry out experiments with it.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product
for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can
cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them.
Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Explanation of symbols
The lightning symbol inside a triangle is used when there is a potential risk of personal injury,
such as electric shock.
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in this operating manual that
absolutely have to be observed.
The arrow symbol indicates specific tips and advice on operation.
Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.
If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this
manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property.
Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing
material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it
from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected
to the product.
• The solar module’s performance can vary depending on weather conditions. Keep this in mind
when operating a device with this product.
• Do not touch the terminal points during operation.
• Use suitable extension cables and adaptor plugs approved for outside operation and use with
a solar module to connect the product to an electrical device. Do not use bare wires or other
uninsulated objects to connect the product.
• Always ensure correct polarity when connecting a device.
• Avoid direct contact with the surface. The surface is sensitive and can be easily scratched or
destroyed through contamination.
• Solar modules may only be used in a temperate climate. The solar module is a device
which is not secured against explosions. Thus, it may not be installed in the vicinity of highly
inflammable gases and vapours.
• The solar module generates power as soon as it is exposed to light. A single module
generates power below the so-called low voltage barrier. However, multiple modules in
parallel (summation of currents) or series connection (summation of voltages) represent a
potential risk.
