Adding nodes and objects
To view the advanced network options

On the Devices tab, right-click an existing node, and click
Edit
from the
pop-up menu.

tab.

About monitoring interfaces on software nodes
Monitoring interfaces communicate between the Symantec Network Security
software or appliance node, and the network device, such as a router. The
software or appliance node receives data about traffic on the router via the
monitoring interface. SuperUsers can add objects to represent monitoring
interfaces that connect software or appliance nodes to network devices.
Local IP
Indicates the internal IP address for a node behind a NAT router.
Netmask
Indicates which part of the node’s IP address applies to the
network. Required field.
Default Router Indicates the IP address of the router that sends network traffic to
and from the node. Required field.
DNS Server 1
Indicates the primary Domain Name Service server for the node,
which maps hostnames to IP addresses.
DNS Server 2
Indicates the secondary Domain Name Service server for the node.
Hostname
Indicates the name of the host.
