Configuring address masquerading
Address masquerading is a method of concealing email addresses or domain names
behind the mail gateway by assigning replacement values to them. Symantec Mail
Security lets you implement address masquerading on inbound mail, outbound
mail, or both. A typical use of address masquerading is to hide the names of
internal mail hosts, so that outgoing mail appears to be coming from a different
domain than that of the actual host.
Follow these steps to add or edit masqueraded entries.
To add a masqueraded entry
1
In the Control Center, click Settings > Address Masquerading.
2
Click Add.
3
Specify an address or domain to masquerade.
4
Specify a new name for the address or domain name.
