Safety and Protection 

Clipping

indicator

When

playing

very

loud

music,

the

green

LED

may

flash

at

the

instant

of

loud

passage.

This

means

the

audio

output

power

is

approaching

the

amplifier's

maximum

rating.

The

flashing

green

LED

is

only

a

reminder

for

you

to

turn

down

the

volume

control,

in

order

to

preserve

optimum

audio

quality.

When

the

volume

is

down,

it

will

stop

flashing.

The

Volatus

200

will

not

suffer

from

any

damage

even

if

it

is

driven

to

a

power

level

in

excess

of

rated

output

power.

DC

protection

The

Volatus

200

protects

the

loudspeaker

from

DC

leakage.

In

case

of

DC

leakage,

the

speaker

output

will

be

cut

off

and

the

LED

will

flash

red

light.

Turn

off

the

amplifier

by

using

the

main

power

switch.

Wait

for

5

minutes

and

then

restart.

If

the

LED

still

flashes

red

light,

turn

it

off

and

return

the

amplifier

to

service.

Overheat

protection

The

solid

aluminium

housing

of

Volatus

200

acts

as

an

excellent

heatsink.

It

only

generates

a

moderate

amount

of

heat

even

when

heavily

driven.

In

extreme

cases

when

there

is

excessive

heat

accumulated,

the

amplifier

will

shut

down

and

the

LED

will

flash

red

light.

We

recommend

you

to

leave

at

least

70mm

of

space

around

the

amplifier

for

ventilation.

Do

not

cover

the

amplifier

with

any

cloth

or

carpet

during

music

playback.

Short

circuit

protection

The

Volatus

200

has

a

built

‐

in

protection

circuit

against

instantaneous

short

circuit.

However,

since

it

is

a

powerful

amplifier

capable

of

delivering

very

high

output

current,

short

circuit

is

still

dangerous.

Do

not

short

circuit

the

speaker

output

wire

intentionally.
