FORANYSYNOLOGYSOFTWARE,TOGETHERWITHANYOTHERASSOCIATEDFIRMWARE,MEDIA,
PRINTEDMATERIALSAND"ONLINE"ORELECTRONICDOCUMENTATION(COLLECTIVELY,THE
"SOFTWARE")AVAILABLEFORDOWNLOADATWWW.SYNOLOGY.COMORPROVIDEDWITHOR
INSTALLEDONASYNOLOGYPRODUCT(THE"PRODUCT").
YOUAGREETOBEBOUNDBYTHETERMSOFTHISEULABYOPENINGTHEPACKAGECONTAINING
THESOFTWARE,INSTALLINGTHESOFTWARENOTOTHERWISEPRE-INSTALLEDBYSYNOLOGY
ONAPRODUCTOROTHERWISEUSINGAPRODUCTTHATINCLUDESPRE-INSTALLEDSOFTWARE.
IFYOUDONOTAGREETOTHETERMSOFTHISEULA,DONOTOPENTHEBOXCONTAINING
THEPRODUCT,INSTALLTHESOFTWAREORUSETHEPRODUCTCONTAININGTHESOFTWARE.
INSTEAD,YOUMAYRETURNTHEPRODUCTTOTHERESELLERWHEREYOUPURCHASEDITFORA
REFUNDINACCORDANCEWITHTHERESELLER'SAPPLICABLERETURNPOLICY.
Section 1. Limited Software License.
Subject
to the terms and conditions of this EULA,
Synologygrantsyoualimited,non-exclusive,non-
transferable,personallicensetoinstall,runanduse
onecopyoftheSoftwareontheProductsolelyin
connectionwithyourauthorizeduseoftheProduct.
Section 2. Documentation.
You may make
anduseareasonablenumberofcopiesofany
documentation provided with the Software;
provided,thatsuchcopieswillonlybeusedfor
internal business purposes and are not to be
republishedorredistributed(eitherinhardcopyor
electronicform)toanythirdparty.
Section 3. Backup.
Youmaymakeareasonable
numberofcopiesoftheSoftwareforbackupand
archivalpurposes.
Section 4. Updates.
Anysoftwareprovidedtoyou
bySynologyormadeavailableontheSynologyweb
siteatwww.synology.com("WebSite")thatupdates
orsupplementstheoriginalSoftwareisgoverned
bythisEULAunlessseparatelicensetermsare
provided with such updates or supplements, in
whichcase,suchseparatetermswillgovern.
Section 5. License Limitations.
Thelicenseset
forthinSection1appliesonlytotheextentyouhave
orderedandpaidfortheProductanditstatesthe
entiretyofyourrightswithrespecttotheSoftware.
Synologyreservesallrightsnotexpresslygranted
toyouinthisEULA.Withoutlimitingtheforegoing,
youwillnot,andyouwillnotauthorizeorpermit
anythirdpartyto:(a)usetheSoftwareforany
purposeotherthaninconnectionwiththeProduct;
(b)license,distribute,lease,rent,lend,transfer,
assignorotherwisedisposeoftheSoftwareor
use the Software in any commercial hosted or
servicebureauenvironment;(c)reverseengineer,
decompile,disassembleorattempttodiscoverthe
sourcecodefororanytradesecretsrelatedtothe
Software,exceptandonlytotheextentthatsuch
activityisexpresslypermittedbyapplicablelaw
notwithstandingthislimitation;(d)adapt,modify,
alter,translateorcreateanyderivativeworksofthe
Software;(e)remove,alterorobscureanycopyright
notice or other proprietary rights notice on the
Product;or(f)circumventorattempttocircumvent
any methods employed by Synology to control
accesstothecomponents,featuresorfunctionsof
theProductorSoftware.
Section 6. Open Source.
The Software may
containcomponentslicensedtoSynologyunderthe
GNUGeneralPublicLicense("GPLComponents"),
currentlyavailableathttp://www.gnu.org/licenses/
gpl.html.ThetermsoftheGPLwillcontrolsolely
withrespecttotheGPLComponentstotheextent
that this EULA conflicts with the requirements
oftheGPLwithrespecttoyouruseoftheGPL
Components,and,insuchevent,youagreetobe
boundbytheGPLwithrespecttoyouruseofsuch
components.
Section 7. Audit.
Synologywillhavetherightto
audityourcompliancewiththetermsofthisEULA.
YouagreetograntaccesstoSynologytofacilities,
equipment,books,recordsanddocumentsandto
otherwisereasonablycooperatewithSynologyin
ordertofacilitateanysuchaudit.
Section 8. Ownership.
TheSoftwareisvaluable
property of Synology and its licensors and is
protected by copyright and other intellectual
propertylawsandtreaties.Synologyoritslicensors
ownallright,titleandinterestinandtotheSoftware
andallcopyrightandotherintellectualproperty
rightsintheSoftware.
Section 9. Limited Warranty.
Synologywarrants
thatforaperiodofninety(90)daysaftereither
your(a)installationoftheSoftwareonProducts
that do not include pre-installed Software or
(b) use of a Product that includes pre-installed
Software,asapplicable,(the"WarrantyPeriod"),the
SoftwarewillsubstantiallyconformtoSynology's
publishedspecificationsfortheSoftware,ifany,
orotherwisesetforthontheWebSite.Synology
will use commercially reasonable efforts to, in
Synology'ssolediscretion,eithercorrectanysuch
nonconformity in the Software or replace any
Softwarethatfailstocomplywiththeforegoing
warranty,providedthatyougiveSynologywritten
noticeofsuchnoncompliancewithintheWarranty
Period.Theforegoingwarrantydoesnotapply
to any noncompliance resulting from any: (w)
use,reproduction,distributionordisclosurenotin
accordancewiththisEULA;(x)anycustomization,
modificationorotheralterationoftheSoftwareby
