Opening and Saving Files
To open or save files, or start working on a new
label, click on the File option in the upper left of
the DiscStudio window.
Labels can be opened and saved as single
composite files, which include backgrounds,
artwork and text. These files can be copied to
another computer which has DiscStudio installed.
To do this, when ready to save a label, choose
Save As Image. To simply save the label, without
the need of copying the label to another computer,
click on Save As, and choose a file name.
Starting a New File
When you start DiscStudio, it's all set for you to start creating a
label. You don't actually need to use the New button to create a
new file. However, if you are done with one label and want to work
on another, save the first label, then select File > New to clear your
workspace completely.
Saving a File
Once you have prepared your CD/DVD label, save it by selecting
File > Save. This will open a standard Windows file dialog where
you can choose the filename and location.
By default, DiscStudio will save files in the My Documents folder. If
you want to change this choose any folder you want using the file
dialog window. Creating a “DiscStudio Projects” folder in My
Documents might be a good choice.
Once you save a file, the folder you save to will be remembered
between sessions until it is changed. This folder also becomes the
new default for loading saved files.
