P10

 valve pre-amplifier is a Hi-Fi

unit of the highest class, which has been carefully designed and developed with the wishes of the demanding music
lover as absolute top priority.

We live in the age of broad-band media such as SACD and DVD-Audio, which are capable of storing and reproducing
frequencies far above 20 kHz. Classic valve amplifiers are simply unable to meet the demands of these media. That is
why we came to the conclusion that a completely new valve-based amplifier was required. The  

P10

  incorporates new

circuit technology and newly developed valve types, and as a result leaves conventional valve technology with all its
limitations trailing in its wake.

For   many   years   it   has   been   widely   acknowledged   by   many   Hi-Fi   enthusiasts   as   well   as   studio   professionals   that
interference potentials travel between the individual devices of a Hi-Fi system via the numerous connections. So-called

'

earth loops

'

 are the inevitable result of multiple earth (ground) connections, such as the earth connections of the mains

and aerial systems, and also the shields which screen signal cables, and these can also cause interference, with an
audible adverse effect on sound quality. The problem can be eased by using 

symmetrical connections

, but this is not a

complete solution since all the devices in the system are still electrically connected.

With the  

P10

B

  has introduced an entirely new idea in an effort to solve this problem.  

B

  CI (Complete Isolation)

technology   eliminates   interference   coupling   completely.   CI   technology   consists   of   two   components:  

all-pole

  (completely

isolating) input switches and 

differential signal inputs

 with 

'

floating ground

'

.

Standard input switches disconnect the signal conductors between the source device and the amplifier, but the electro-
mechanical  all-pole  input switches used  in  the  

P10

  also  isolate  their  earth connections.  This  means that  the  

P10

  is

completely isolated electrically from all source devices which are not currently providing the signal being auditioned. The
only remaining  connection  is   the  one to  the  source  device  to  which  the  user   is  actually listening.  This  arrangement
minimises the network effect of the Hi-Fi system, and eliminates undesirable loops and feedback.

In order to exclude the possibility of earth loops in the connection between the amplifier and the currently active source
device,  the active  input can also be switched to  

'

floating ground

'

. At this setting  the  

P10

’s input  is switched over to

differential mode, eliminating the low-impedance earth connection between the source device and the 

P10

. This mode of

operation works in a similar way to a symmetrical connection - although in the case of the 

P10

 it can also be used with

normal, non-symmetrical source devices and standard Cinch cables.

In summary: interference potentials can build up in a Hi-Fi system and its wiring, but

 CI technology reduces all these

potentials to the absolute minimum. The result is phenomenal dynamics, great precision of reproduction, and total freedom
from interference.

The  

P10

  also exploits the latest semi-conductors and micro-processors in addition to its innovative valve technology.

However, the semi-conductors are not employed for signal amplification - the signal processing in the 

P10

 is carried out

exclusively by means of valves! In the 

P10

 the semi-conductors are used for a number of important auxiliary purposes,

such as the constant checking and monitoring of all operational parameters. As a result the 

P10

 is extremely secure and

reliable   in   operation.   For   example,   the   amplifier   informs   you   automatically   if   the   valves   should   lose   their   optimum
operating characteristics at any time due to inevitable ageing effects.

The  

P10

  also sets new standards in many other respects, such as special vibration absorbers in the case feet. These

prevent external sound and mechanical vibration reaching the delicate valves, where microphony effects can have an
adverse influence on sound quality.

comprehensively by a fully automated, computer-controlled system to ensure uniformly high quality. We guarantee that

At all stages of production we avoid the use of substances which are environmentally unsound or potentially hazardous
to health, such as chlorine-based cleaning agents and CFCs.

We also aim to avoid the use of plastics in general, and PVC in particular, in the design of our products. Instead we rely
upon metals and other non-hazardous materials; metal components are ideal for recycling, and also provide effective
electrical screening.
