Tip: - Apply masking tape to the area you need to cut out. Doing this does two things, firstly, it allows
you to draw the outline on the cowl without the mark rubbing off and secondly, it offers some chip
protection to the paint when cutting.
Check the fit of the cowl regularly whilst cutting out the excess. When satisfied with the results, use
some fine grade sandpaper to smooth out the edges. You may need to make some cut outs for your
header pipes too. Do not forget to make extra holes for your choke lever and engine adjustment
needles.
Once you are satisifed with the positioning of your cuts, bolt the lower cowl half onto the fueslage
using the bolts you removed previously. Use washers and a small drop of threadlock to the thread of
the bolts.
Fit the top of the cowl and fix that to the bulkhead from inside the fuselage. Now fit the cowl bolts,
starting from the either side of the spinner on alternating sides.
Fit the spinner and the propeller.
