CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
1. Replace the bag and filters. If problem persists there is a clog causing it to overheat.
2. The thermal breaker could be weak from repeated tripping. Replace breaker. (See page 50 for
instructions.)
3. The motor could be overheating. Replace motor as shown on page 52.
III. Troubleshooting
H. Thermal Breaker Trips Repeatedly
I. Motor Going on and Off or Not Starting (Even with the Hall Sensor Bypassed)
CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
1. First confirm the issue is not related to the hall sensor jam function by bypassing the hall sensor using
the hall sensor test plug. If problem is not present with sensor bypassed then
replace the hall sensor.
2. If problem persists inspect the motor. The carbon brushes could be stuck or worn out. Service or
replace the motor as necessary.
J. Power Cord Gets Warm to the Touch
CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
1. Be sure the cord is completley uncoiled from the handle during use.
2. It is normal the cord to get warm during use. However, if the cord is too hot to hold onto then it may
have broken wires inside. Inspect and replace as necessary.
3. Check the motor amperage. If the motor is not pulling the correct amperage, replace.
