Mirror protection
The mirror is protected from excess vacuum which can cause permanent damage to the
mirror. The minimum distance of the mirror from the supporting frame is set by the position
of a limit switch. The limit switch is normally closed which enables the ultra-sonic transducer
and the inverter.
When the mirror hits the limit switch due to excessive vacuum, which could be due to faulty
sensor or faulty control, the latching relay is energised and latched. Both the ultra-sonic
transducer and the inverter are disabled. The fault lamp is lit indicating the presence of mirror
fault.
Provided the fault no longer exists, the latching circuit can be cleared by either pressing the
Reset button or turning off the power,
