Mirror protection

The  mirror  is  protected  from  excess  vacuum  which  can  cause  permanent  damage  to  the
mirror. The minimum distance of the mirror from the supporting frame is set by the position
of a limit switch. The limit switch is normally closed which enables the ultra-sonic transducer
and the inverter.

When the mirror hits the limit switch due to excessive vacuum, which could be due to faulty
sensor  or  faulty  control,  the  latching  relay  is  energised  and  latched.  Both  the  ultra-sonic
transducer and the inverter are disabled. The fault lamp is lit indicating the presence of mirror
fault.

Provided the fault no longer exists, the latching circuit can be cleared by either pressing the
Reset button or turning off the power,
