Switching the Standby Side to Maintenance Mode
The system enables switching the Standby side to Maintenance mode for diagnostics
or any other reason. It also requests a time period after which it will automatically
revert that system side back to standby mode.
1.
From the PI terminal of the Active side, access the HSB branch by typing
HSB
from anywhere in the PI or by entering
0,11
from the Root Menu.
2.
The PI prompts:
0-Update
1-Display
Enter
0
to enable updating the system parameters.
3.
The PI first displays the read-only parameters describing the HSB setup.
Continue pressing
Enter
until reaching the AUTO MAINTENANCE
TERMINATION parameter.
Set this parameter to
Yes
to safeguard the system by having the system
automatically revert the Standby side back to Maintenance mode after a
finite number of hours defined in the next parameter.
When this parameter is set
No
, the technician must manually restore this
system side to Standby when appropriate (and skip the next step).
4.
Press
Enter
to continue to the next parameter,
AUTO MAINTENANCE TERMINATION TIME.
Determine the number of hours after which the system should switch this side
back to Standby mode.
The default set for this parameter is 24 hours, however, the technician may
change this default to any number of hours between 1 and 255.
Enter a number between 1 and 255.
5.
Continue pressing
Enter
to reach the parameter.
OTHER CONTROL STATUS -
This parameter defines the Control side mode for the non-Active side. Set this
parameter to
3
, to transfer the Standby side to Maintenance mode.
6.
The system is now in I or I’ mode, with a stand-alone Active side (no
redundancy).
7.
Continue pressing Enter without changing any of the other parameters until
you reach the last parameter to update the changes:
UPDATE STATUS (Y/N):
