Program Interface Device Connection
The Program Interface (PI) is a detailed, menu-driven, interface system for
programming the Coral system. It also provides access to the diagnostic facilities
contained within the system software.
The PI can be accessed through any of the following types of connecting devices:
video display data terminal
keyboard send/receive (KSR) printer data terminal
a data terminal and modem
PC with VT emulator
PC with CoralVIEW Designer (CVD)
PC with CoralVIEW Administrator (CVA)
The Program Interface (PI) menu driven interface enables the technician to update the
system software backup and restore the system database and view system components
as needed.
The PI terminal device (PC or data terminal) must be equipped with an
RS-232 asynchronous serial data interface which can be configured for a
data rate of between 300 to 115,200 bps (default: 9600), 8 data bits, 1 stop
bit and no parity bits.
The PI device must use the ASCII character set.
The earth ground connection to the PI device must be the same earth
ground connection supplied to the Coral system.
