3.1
Power Supply Test
This chapter provides information about initial tests that must be performed when first
installing a Coral system.
Use a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM) to perform the following voltage measurements.
In the following tests, no measured voltages should be zero. If a zero (0)
voltage reading is shown, check the meter settings and verify that the leads
are connected properly. If, after checking the meter and connections, a zero
voltage reading remains, the associated power supply is faulty and must be
replaced.

General
Before proceeding, verify that all internal power supplies (PPS, RPS and PS-ATSs) and
circuit cards in the Coral system are only partially inserted into their respective card
slots, with the front panels protruding approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) from the front of the
card cage.
Also, turn off
ALL
peripheral power supplies: PPS and RPS units. These are to be
switched on only after at least one Control Shelf PS-ATS is powered.
