The system configuration database can be automatically saved to the CFD file at a
preset time each day. Auto Backup is used to set the time of day that the system will
automatically save the database to the CFD each day. During automatic daily back-up,
the database is saved to DB0.DEF.
The Backup procedure can be requested only from the Active side of a Hot
Standby system. However, the Backup will be performed on both system
sides.

From the Database Control Branch: Disk Menu

set the Auto Backup time. The system prompts with the following parameter:
NUMBER OF DAYS BETWEEN BACKUPS

Enter the number of days between automatic backups. For example, entering 1
causes the system to automatically backup the database every day. Entering 2
causes the system to automatically backup the database every other day.
The default is set to backup every week (every 7 days).
Enter

to disable the automatic backups and thus enable manual backups.

The next parameter prompts for the time of day to perform the backup:
SET AUTO BACKUP TIME:
Enter the time of day to automatically save the system database in 24-hour
format. Use 00:00 or 24:00 for midnight and 00:01 (or 24:01) to 00:59 (or
24:59) for times between midnight and 1:00 a.m. The default time is 01:30, or
1:30 a.m.
The technician should choose a time when call traffic is lowest.

The system returns to the Database Backup menu. Press
0
to return to the
Database Disk menu.
