Your FlexSet is equipped with a speaker. The FlexSet is also equipped to operate as a speakerphone, which enables you to
converse without lifting the handset. Pressing the speakerphone (SPKR) key will automatically switch on the sensitive
microphone and speaker, enabling handsfree conversations with handset remaining on its cradle. There are, however, several
ways of using the speaker key, such as: in conjunction with a headset, or when the key is programmed for on/off operation by
using the HANDSET/SPKR key (handset/speaker switchover). When using the FlexSet 120L, you must use the handset or
headset when speaking.
Note:
Microphone is not available for FlexSet 120L and for any FlexSet programmed for Headset Only
(see
page 84
).
Using Speakerphone for handsfree conversation:
•
When handset is on cradle:
When handset is on the cradle and the SPKR key flashes, you can speak handsfree by pressing
the f

).
•

conversation, lift handset. The SPKR key LED will go off.
•
Switchover from handset to speakerphone:

the
SPKR key, then when the LED is lit, replace the handset on the cradle.
•
Disconnecting calls:
There are two ways to disconnect calls:
1) Pressing the lit SPKR key, when the handset is on its cradle.
2) Replacing the handset onto the cradle when the SPKR LED is off.
•
Call Monitoring (only when programmed for combined audio):
When you are using the handset and want to activate the
speaker for group listening, press the SPKR key. When the LED is lit, the combined audio is active. To return to private
conversation, press the SPKR key again. The LED will go off.
