If you turn the radio on before your preprogrammed hire pe-
riod begins, the radio displays the letter H and sounds a
warning tone. The radio then turns itself off after a few sec-
onds.
l
During your hire period the radio operates normally.
l
During the last hour of your hire period, the radio sounds
a warning tone, and displays the letter H for a few sec-
onds every ten minutes.
l
During the last five minutes of your hire period, the radio
sounds a warning tone, and displays the letter H for a
few seconds every minute.
When your hire period expires, the radio becomes inactive and
displays the letter H continuously. After a few seconds, it
turns off completely. The radio can only be reactivated by pro-
gramming another hire period.
Switchable Options
The function keys above your radios PTT switch and on the
keypad can be configured to perform a variety of functions.
These options will have been made available to you at the time
your radio was preprogrammed. If you are unsure about what
is available, contact your Tait dealer or distributor.
Each option has an ON and OFF setting. To change the current
setting, press the assigned function key. When an option is
turned ON, an indicator generally appears in the display win-
dow. (See Appendix I for a list of display window indicators.)
