The classical guitar is where it all started for us at Takamine.
It’s a passion we inherited from the late Mass Hirade, an early
driving force at Takamine. Both brilliant designer and highly
skilled luthier, Hirade’s innovative instruments were markedly
superior in volume, richness of tone, and playability.
Hirade’s characteristically meticulous drawings continue
to guide the small group of Takamine luthiers who build
a limited number of fine concert classics. Hirade
instruments are also favored by jazz and pop
artists who require a classical guitar robust
enough to hold its own in an ensemble sound mix.
